Registration & Payment
- Registration is $1800 (USD) per team. Please refer to the team invitation email for details.
Participation Rules
- Participants may follow the age range for their set country/region. As of January 1, 2025, team members must fall within the range of:
- For US/Canada: 9-14
- For all other regions: 9-16
- If your PDP granted a special exemption to this age range, please ask them to reach out and let us know.
- All attendees must have a signed consent form, including all student team members and guests. A digital link will be provided in your team's invitation email.
Pit Area
The pit is your team’s home base. It’s a space to showcase your hard work and connect with other teams.
What the Pit is for:
- Storing props and materials used in judging sessions
- Repairing and working on your robot
- Connecting with other teams
- Showing off what your team has accomplished!
Giveaways & Trading: We love team spirit! We recommend trading pins, buttons, or wristbands. Items that are intended to be thrown or bounced are not allowed in the pit area. No balloons please.
A Few Simple Rules:
- Keep the aisles and the perimeter clear. No bags, or materials outside your designated space.
- Additional chairs are not allowed
- Tents, canopies, or coverings of any kind are not allowed.
- No cooking equipment — that means coffee makers, hot water pots, and similar appliances.
- Teammates not actively working should cheer from the stands and keep the pit area focused and functional.
VENUE INFORMATION
Location:
- Georgia Institute of Technology – Atlanta, Georgia
- The main competition building will be the Exhibition Hall
- Food is available for sale on campus, and there are many restaurants and stores within walking distance. Outside food is welcome at the venue.
Watching the Event
- The robot matches will be live-streamed at https://www.youtube.com/@georgiatechceismc
- While the competition is free and open to the public for any spectators, we request that all guests traveling with teams complete a guest registration, especially non-competing minors. A link will be provided to all registered/paid teams closer to the event date for guest registration.

- Information about hotel blocks will be sent directly to teams.

Accommodations and Travel
Where is the event located?
The event is at the Georgia Tech Campus. All competition activities will take place in Georgia Tech’s Exhibition Hall Building 460 4th St NW, Atlanta, GA 30332, United States.
All other event-related activity locations will be announced closer to the date of the event.
Do we need visas?
Teams from some international countries may require visas to travel to the United States. Please review the latest information on the Travel State Government Website of the United States.

Who can international teams contact for help with logistics or travel planning?
Please reply to your welcome email with your questions or concerns.
What health or travel insurance requirements should teams consider?
Teams are responsible for arranging their own health and travel insurance. We strongly recommend that all participants are covered for medical care in the United States, trip interruptions, and emergency transportation.
How do I get from the airport to Georgia Tech?
Please reference your welcome email. There are several options.
Is there public transportation?
Yes, MARTA is Atlanta’s public transportation system. https://itsmarta.com/
What’s the weather going to be like?
Expect warm to hot days with high humidity as early summer begins. Highs are generally in the mid-80s to upper-80s °F (~29–31°C) during early June and Lows are usually in the mid-60s to around 70 °F (~18–21°C) at night.
What should I bring with me?
Teams should bring uniforms/spirit wear, safety glasses, robot tools and chargers, travel documents, and weather-appropriate clothing. A full packing checklist will be shared in the Event Guide.
Event Logistics
Is the event free for spectators/guests?
Yes.
Do spectators/guests need to register?
Yes. All non-competing guests who are traveling with your team should register, especially minors. A separate registration link will be sent to all competing teams.
What emergency or medical services are available?
Licensed Emergency Medical Technicians will be on-site throughout the event.
Will the event be streamed online?
Yes. A live stream link will be posted closer to the event.
Where do I park?
On-site parking will be available for the duration of the event. There is no free on-site parking.
Is there food and drink available on-site?
Yes. A list of vendors, times, and locations will be shared closer to the event.
Will there be Wi-Fi?
Guest Wi-Fi will be available through Georgia Tech. Details will be provided at registration.
Are there accommodations for accessibility or dietary needs?
Yes. Teams will receive an accommodations request form before the event.
REGISTRATION AND FEES
What is the registration fee?
The Fee is $1800 USD per team.
What is included in the cost?
The registration fee includes the entry fee, GRIts swag, activities, and event activity transportation. Food and housing are not included in the registration fee.
How do I register?
Invited teams will receive instructions by email.
How do I qualify?
Your team must qualify through your local provincial, state or national championship event.
How can a team join the waitlist?
Please contact your local Program Delivery Partner (PDP) to request waitlist information.
What is the refund/cancellation policy?
If the event must be canceled, full refunds will be provided. Otherwise, refunds are not available for any reason.

Where can I find the schedule?
The detailed schedule will be provided to all registered teams in the team packet.
Will judging be in person?
Yes, judging will be in person and will take place at Georgia Tech’s Exhibition Hall Building.
What times should teams arrive and depart?
Teams should arrive on Thursday, June 4th to take advantage of the evening registration window.
How many competition days are there?
There are two days of competition and one day for the award ceremony.

Will teams have time for sightseeing?
Yes, teams will get the opportunity to participate in a student event visiting specific sites in Atlanta and exploring the Georgia Tech Campus. There is also free time built into the event to explore on your own.
Are students able to tour the Georgia Tech campus?
Yes, Georgia Tech will provide campus tours during specific designated time blocks.
What activities will be available?
A student social event will take place on Friday, June 5th, and there will be a series of activities on the Georgia Tech campus in which students can participate. More details will be sent to registered teams.
